Man nabbed for threatening to spread ex's nude photos

CEBU CITY – A 27-year-old man from Minglanilla town, southern Cebu was arrested after he allegedly threatened to spread the nude photos of her ex-girlfriend.

The man also threatened to spread their lewd videos if the woman refused to have sex with him, police said.

The suspect, Karl Angelou Rubic, was arrested on Friday, December 1. A charge for grave coercion in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 has already been filed against him, police said.

The woman sought help from the police after his threat reached her.

She alleged that he threatened that he would spread her nude photos and their sex videos through Facebook Messenger if she would not meet him and have sex with him.

The woman said it was a mutual friend who relayed the threat to her. The suspect had sent her nude photos and their sex videos to the mutual friend through Messenger before the threat reached her.

The suspect also demanded the woman to unblock him on Facebook.

After they received the report, police planned an entrapment operation that led to the suspect’s arrest.
