A 23-year-old Chinese national was rescued by the Tanay, Rizal police after escaping his captors who tortured him and forced him to work in Clark, Pampanga, the Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) said.

Based on the police report, a consular assistant from the Chinese Embassy called the police to inform them about the victim, identified as "Teng" and a resident of Sichuan, China, who is hiding in Barangay Plaza Aldea, Tanay, Rizal after being kidnapped by his fellow Chinese.
Members of the Tanay PNP and Tanay Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) immediately went to the area and rescued Teng who was immediately brought to the hospital for treatment.
Teng told the police that he arrived in the country on Aug. 15 for a vacation and met with other Chinese nationals. He claimed he was kidnapped by them and was brought to Clark, Pampanga where he was tortured, maltreated, and forced to work.
On Nov. 30, the victim was brought to Parañaque City to withdraw money. There he had the chance to escape from his captors and hide inside a salon where he met another Chinese who helped him hide from the suspects.
Teng was brought to his live-in partner's house in Tanay, Rizal where they sought help from the authorities.
The Rizal PPO said a follow-up investigation is still being conducted to determine the location of the suspects.
