Aftershocks from magnitude 7.4 Surigao del Sur quake continue to rise
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Monday, Dec. 4, recorded 1, 898 aftershocks from the magnitude 7.4 earthquake that rocked Surigao del Sur.

Of the recorded aftershocks as of 1 p.m., Phivolcs said 355 of those were plotted.
Meanwhile, 19 aftershocks ranging from magnitude 1.4 to magnitude 6.6 were felt according to Phivolcs.
The offshore earthquake in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur had its epicenter 30 kilometers (km) northeast of Surigao del Sur and a shallow depth of 25 km beneath the epicenter.
The tremor was felt at the highest intensity or Intensity VII (destructive) in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur.
