Security guard nabbed for shooting truck driver to death at gas station in Manila

The Manila Police District (MPD) arrested a security guard after he shot and killed a truck driver at a gas station in Intramuros, Manila on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 30.

The MPD-Ermita Police Station (PS-5) identified the suspect as Ramon Manato, 52, a resident of Caloocan City. 

 

According to the police report, the victim, Richard Andalajao, parked his truck at the Petron gas station along Soriano Street in Intramuros to refill its gas tank around 2:45 p.m. 

 

Authorities said that while the victim was waiting for his companion, who had the money for the gas payment, the suspect approached him. 

 

They said that the suspect confronted the victim for parking too long in the area, which resulted in a heated argument between them.

 

During the argument, police said that the suspect suddenly loaded up his shotgun and shot the victim in the chest, which led to his immediate death. 

 

The police said that the suspect is now detained at MPD and will face charges for  murder.
