Parañaque LGU designates firecracker zones for safe New Year celebration

The Parañaque City government has designated 15 firecracker zones in 16 barangays in the city's District 1 and 2 for a safe celebration of New Year's Eve.
Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez instructed the local government to designate firecracker zones at open areas in every barangays where firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices can be used.
Olivarez said the firecracker zones in District 1 are located in Barangays San Isidro, San Nino, Vitalez, Tambo, Baclaran, Don Galo, La Huerta and San Donisio.
He added that the zones for fireworks shows for the second district are in Barangays Marcelo Green, Merville, Moonwalk, San Antonio, San Martin de Porres and Sun Valley
Olivarez also identified firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices that are not allowed to be used in welcoming New Year including piccolo, whistle bomb, pla-pla,super lolo, judas belt, sawa, watusi, and triangulo.
The other firecrackers that are prohibited for use were kwitis, 5 star, Goodbye Philippines, Binladen, Yalanda, bawang and other similar devices.
The mayor said residents may call the National Emergency Hotline or the 911 and the Parañaque Hotline at 8820-7783 (PQUE) in case of emergency.
