Converge ICT Solutions Inc. was at the top spot of the Netflix Internet Service Provider (ISP) Speed Index Leaderboard released in November 2023.
The Netflix ISP Speed Index measures Netflix’s prime time performance on various ISPs worldwide. Faster ISP speed performance means better quality, faster loading times, and reduced buffers when watching movies and shows on Netflix.
Converge’s speed recorded 3 megabits per second (Mbps). It had a 11-month average of 3.25 Mbps in the speed index. This exceeds the country’s average speed of 2.8 Mbps.
Converge is tied with telco firm Royal Cable.
Ranking second at 2.8 Mbps were Globe Telecom Inc., PLDT and Smart Communications, Inc., and Sky Cable Corporation.
“As we hold on to the number one spot in this important barometer of internet performance, we are inspired to keep on doing better for our customers, especially to our more than two million subscribers who rely on our end-to-end fiber connectivity to sustain their digital life," said Dennis Anthony Uy, CEO and Co-Founder of Converge.
Throughout 2023, Converge launched initiatives to make its fiber products more affordable to consumers. For instance, its prepaid fiber internet brand Surf2Sawa offers 25Mbps speeds for six gadgets at P700 per month. BIDA Fiber offers 35 Mbps for six gadgets at P888 per month.
As a broadband provider, the company has also partnered with TapDMV to give subscribers free access to streaming service BlastTV.
Converge stressed that it is working on plans to further explore and be involved in over-the-top (OTT) digital services or media streaming services throughout this year.
