Gokongwei-owned low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) has scaled up its growing commercial fleet size to 77 as it reached its target aircraft and engine deliveries for 2023.
It completed 19 aircraft deliveries equipped as new-engine option (neo) carriers. They received five new aircrafts throughout November and December last year including an Airbus A321neo, A320neo, A320ceo, and two A330neo.
CEB Chief Strategy Officer Alex Reyes said the airline has "achieved a historic milestone with a record number of aircraft deliveries this year."
"These additions to our fleet not only bolster our capacity to fly more passengers but also underscore our commitment to ensure every Juan gets to fly to their destinations,” said Reyes.

Reyes highlighted the damp lease agreement that the airline signed on Dec. 5, 2023 with Bulgaria Air for two Airbus 320 CEO aircraft for its Cebu and Davao routes as part of its post-pandemic air travel recovery.
To date, CEB's diversified fleet consists of eight Airbus 330s, 35 Airbus 320s, 20 Airbus 321s, and 14 ATR turboprop aircrafts.
CEB currently operates one of the youngest fleets in the world, with its diversified fleet mix enabling the widest network coverage in the Philippines with eight Airbus 330s, 35 Airbus 320s, 20 Airbus 321, and 14 Avions de Transport Regional (ATR) turboprop aircraft.
For 2024, CEB President and Chief Commercial Officer Xander Lao previously said that it aims to widen its fleet size to 92 with 16 Airbus planes to be delivered within the year. The airline allocated P50 billion for its capital expenditures for these aircraft acquisitions.
The airline has also stated its preparation for the grounding of up to 20 aircrafts starting January this year due to the Pratt & Whitney (P&W) engine inspections and replacement activities. The purchase of new aircrafts and slight changes to flight frequencies to both domestic and international destinations were some of the avenues explored to mitigate the impact of the grounded planes, shared CEB.
Lao added that talks between CEB and global aircraft manufacturers Airbus and Boeing for new services such as planes and equipment are expected to be finalized by the first quarter of 2024.
