1,355 Cordillera cops deployed to secure New Year

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr., Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief, deployed 1,355 policemen to ensure the safety of the people welcoming the New Year in the Cordillera.

Peredo said police personnel were strategically deployed in bus terminals, malls, markets, parks, and other places of convergence. They were augmented by 32 personnel from other agencies and 201 volunteers.

He appealed to the public not to patronize illegal firecrackers.

Peredo reminded gun holders to be responsible and prioritize safety at all times this New Year.

"I enjoin everyone, especially those who have firearms to take extra precautions and cooperate. Absolutely no firing of firearms. Be mindful to follow the rules and regulations as we welcome a safe and peaceful 2024.”
