CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela – The Isabela Provincial Health Office recorded five firecracker-related injuries in the province as of December 30.
Provincial Health Education and Promotion Officer Arlene Martinez said the town of Roxas has two, this city, two, and the municipality of Alicia, one.

Victims were injured by “Piccolo,” “Five Star,” “Triangle,” and “boga” or improvised cannon.
The DOH-Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) recorded 10 cases of firecracker-related injuries from December 21 to 27, an 11 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Most of the victims were males aged eight to 29 and most cases were recorded in Isabela.
“Bawang,” “Kwitis,” and boga caused most of the firecracker-related injuries in Region 2.
