Pasay celebrates 160th founding anniversary with parade of light, street dance competition

The Pasay City government celebrated its 160th founding anniversary on Saturday, Dec. 2 with a colorful parade of light and a street dance competition.
Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the celebration of the city’s 160th founding anniversary with the theme “Be the Light,” the city government prepared various activities for the whole of the Pasayeños.
Rubiano said the parade of lights and street dances started along Tramo Street going to F.B. Harrison.
She said the parade of lights and dance competition was being conducted annually to give happiness to residents and employees participant.
The mayor added the parade of lights and dance competition was stopped in 2019 during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Rubiano said the awarding of winners for the parade of lights and street dance competition was held at the Pasay City Astrodome.
She said winners of the street dance competition received P50,000 for the grand champion, P40,000 for the first place and P30,000 for the second place while the other participants were given P15,000 as a consolation prize.
The mayor added that winners of the parade of lights with colorful and vibrant floats were given P30,000 for the grand champion, P20,000 for the first place, and P10,000 for the second place.
Rubiano said the activity lasted with a colorful fireworks display outside the Pasay City Astrodome.
