Lanao solon slams 'murderers'; says MSU blast broke his heart

The deadly bombing at Mindanao State University (MSU) in Marawi City Sunday morning, Dec. 3 has left Lanao del Sur 1st district Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong both incensed and heartbroken. 

"I express the highest condemnation for the perpetrators, these murderers who targeted innocents in prayer. There is no room in Marawi, in Lanao, or in the entire Philippines for  them," Adiong said in a statement mere hours after the blast. 

"My heart lies in pieces," added the Mindanao lawmaker, who described the bombing as an "unprovoked attack on innocent citizen" attending a Sunday mass at MSU. 

"As of this time there has been a loss of four innocent lives and ten others wounded. I extend my support and whatever assistance my office may provide to the victims and their families, as well as to the entire community affected by this heinous act," said Adiong, who is a House assistant minority leader. 

Adiong prodded the national government to "leave no stone unturned until the perpetrators of this vile act are brought to justice". 

He further said that his office has deployed a team to assist the victims and their families at the Amai Pakpak Medical Center. "They will asisst in processing all assistance concerns within the capability of my office," he said. 

"It is the bare minimum that we must do to ensure that the right to life of our citizens are protected. Let this be a statement of our government’s enduring commitment to human rights and a lasting peace," he added.
