CHED pushes for review of university policies after MSU bombing
Following the "horrific" bombing incident at the Mindanao State University (MSU) on Sunday, Dec. 3, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) said that it will ensure a review of the university's policies.

As the Chairman of the MSU Board of Regents, CHED Chairperson Prospero De Vera III said that he will ensure a review of university policies to “make sure safety and security measures are added so that this horrific event will not be repeated.”
As CHED Chairman, De Vera also urged the boards of other higher education institutions (HEIs) to review and enhance their respective safety and security measures.
CHED said that it is “saddened and appalled” by the horrific bombing incident at the Dimaporo Gymnasium in MSU during a conduct of Catholic mass this morning.
“Violence has no place in a civilized society, particularly in an institution of higher learning,” CHED said as it condemned the act of violence committed inside an HEI.
De Vera stated that CHED will collaborate with the MSU President and officials to offer "necessary counseling and support" to the affected individuals, especially the staff and students of the university.
Meanwhile, De Vera called on the public to “pray” for the victims, their families, and the MSU community as the government authorities “provide assistance and ensure security and protection for all.”
