According to a Kabataan Partylist Facebook post, the total budget for 2024 was P128 billion, which is more than even P107 billion from 2023.

This increase was made in comparison to the initial P100 billion allocation.

While some universities like Cebu Normal University (CNU) saw a 258 percent boost and Mindanao State University (MSU) received a 94 percent increase, at least 15 out of 26 schools are set to receive less than their 2023 funding.

Moreover, it said two public universities are receiving "slightly less" than half of this year's budget.

The initial proposal to slash SUC funding sparked outrage, which led to a wave of protests, online campaigns, and even a signature drive by 36 SUC presidents demanding the restoration of P6 billion in cuts.
