Senior citizen beaten to death in Laguna

CALAUAN, Laguna â€“ A 64-year-old man was beaten to death and his 69-year-old sister was seriously injured in an attack in their house on Thursday morning, December 28, in Barangay Lamot 2, this town.

Police identified the fatality as Eduardo Malabanan who sustained head injuries from a hard object.

Investigation said that Isidro, brother of the victims, heard their sister Concepcion Tanauan begging for help inside their house. He went inside and saw his sister lying on the bed with blood on her head.

He went to the other room and found Eduardo lying on his bed lifeless with head injuries.

Isidro sought help from barangay officials who brought Concepcion to the hospital.

Police said that the incident may have taken place between 3:30 a.m. to 6 a.m. on December 28.

Lawmen are conducting follow-up investigation.
