Employees in the private sector in Taguig are now exempted from securing mayor’s permit or clearance.
Mayor Lani Cayetano signed Ordinance No. 109, passed on Dec. 18 by the City Council, which exempts employees, including the self-employed, those seeking employment, or practicing a profession, from submitting mayor’s permit or clearance.

With this, private employers in the city should no longer require job applicants to secure the permit.
The ordinance amended a provision in the Taguig Tax Revenue Code by adding the exempted individuals to ease the burden on them as they work.
The city government said the ordinance will save jobseekers not only time but additional expenses.
The amendment is aligned with Taguig's policy to encourage residents to actively seek employment and engage in their professions, in line with Sec. 16 of the Local Government Code of 1991, which emphasizes fair and just practices under the general welfare clause.
"Our commitment is anchored in the constitutional mandate to provide full protection to labor and to promote full employment and equality of employment opportunities for all. We strive to simplify processes, making them more accessible for individuals contributing to Taguig's vibrant workforce," said Cayetano.
