Motorcycle rider dies in collision with truck in Tondo

A motorcycle rider died after his vehicle hit the back of a trailer truck in Tondo, Manila on Thursday, Dec. 28.

The MPD-Manila Traffic Enforcement Unit (MDTEU) identified the victim as Francis Sepulveda, a resident of Kalookan City. 
 
A witness said the motorcycle rider was traveling southward on Mel Lopez Boulevard in Tondo around 4 a.m.
 
When the victim reached the Manila Harbour Center, his motorcycle hit the left-back portion of the truck, which was stationary on the side of the street during the accident. 
 
Due to the impact, the victim fell to the ground and sustained severe head injuries, resulting in his immediate death.
 
The police said that his body was brought to the funeral for an autopsy.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the truck is now under police custody and will face charges of homicide and damage to property.
