Last March, Leyeco III issued an ultimatum until the end of the month for all fiber internet providers to process their documents and secure permits.
The Standard Pole Agreement outlines the guidelines for the proper and secure placement of attachments on electric cooperative poles with due consideration for rent.
"Despite the grace period provided, most of the fiber internet providers have failed to comply with the stipulated requirements. In accordance with the National Electrification Administration (NEA) Memorandum 2018-055, which authorized the Joint Pole Agreement, Leyeco III finds itself compelled to implement the disconnection of the non-compliant internet providers."
The electric cooperative pointed out that its disconnection of the non-compliant fiber lines is not only a proactive way to prevent potential hazards but also underscores the cooperative’s dedication to providing safe and reliable electrical infrastructure for its consumers.
"Leyeco III encourages all fiber internet providers to promptly comply with the necessary requirements to avoid service interruptions and to contribute to the overall safety and aesthetic improvement of the community."
