Marcos signs laws converting two campuses in Leyte, Bataan to expand resources, services
President Marcos has signed into law measures converting two campuses into regular ones, thus expanding their capacities.

Marcos signed Republic Act (RA) Nos. 11968 and 11969 to grant the conversion of two campuses in Leyte and Bataan into regular campuses, Malacañang said on Thursday, Dec. 28.
Through RA 11968, Marcos granted the conversion of the San Isidro Satellite campus of the Leyte Normal University (LNU) in San Isidro, Leyte to a regular campus, which will be referred to as the “LNU-San Isidro Campus.”
Under the law, the LNU-San Isidro Campus shall offer short-term, technical-vocational, undergraduate, and graduate courses within its areas of competency and specialization.
The LNU-San Isidro Campus is also mandated to "undertake research and extension services, and production activities in support of the socioeconomic development and to provide progressive leadership in these areas."
He also signed into law RA No. 11969, converting the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU)-Bagac Extension Campus in Bagac, Bataan to a regular campus that will be known as “BPSU-Bagac Campus.”
Marcos said the laws also aim to respond to the human resource development needs of their respective provinces.
He signed the new laws on Dec. 20, which will take effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette, or in a newspaper of general circulation.
