Man arrested while applying for police clearance in Muntinlupa


A man was arrested by authorities while he was applying for a police clearance in Muntinlupa on Dec. 27. 

The man, only identified by the Southern Police District (SPD) by his alias, Alfredo, 55, was nabbed at the police clearance office at Ayala Malls South Park in Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa.

The Muntinlupa police found out that Alfredo had an outstanding bench warrant for a case for  violation of Republic Act 1161 (The Social Security Act of 1954). 

The bench warrant was issued by Presiding Judge Tomas Ken Dizon Romaquin Jr of the Regional Trial Court Branch 24 in Biñan, Laguna on Oct. 18 this year. The recommended bail was set at P24,000. 

"In the realm of Philippine law, a bench warrant is an order issued by a judge for the arrest of a person, typically because of their failure to appear in court as required," according to Respicio.ph law firm website.
