Bulacan, Region 3 police directors inspect firecracker stalls in Bocaue
Central Luzon Police Director Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. and Bulacan Police Provincial Office (PPO) Director Col. Relly B. Arnedo inspected the firecracker stores in Barangay Turo, Bocaue, Bulacan on Wednesday, Dec. 27, five days before the New Year.

Hidalgo said that while the nation prepares to welcome the year 2024, he reminded the public not to patronize illegal firecrackers as they could endanger lives.
He said the stringent inspection is part of the Philippine National Police's (PNP) continuing crackdown against illegal firecrackers that are harmful to the public. It also aims to ensure that firecrackers and pyrotechnics dealers, sellers, and manufacturers are compliant with the implementing rules and guidelines outlined in Republic Act 7183 (An Act Regulating the Sale, Manufacture, Distributor, and Use of Firecrackers and Pyrotechnic Device).
Recently, through the directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., and PNP Chief Gen. Benjamin C. Acorda Jr., Brig. Gen. Hidalgo with Bulacan Police Provincial Office personnel led by Col. Arnedo enhanced police visibility at terminals, malls, and public areas in the province.
Regular inspections, coordinated with local chiefs of police, reinforced the commitment to safety, and the community was urged to stay vigilant, follow safety guidelines, and report any suspicious activities promptly.
The Bulacan PPO assured the public of a safe and festive holiday season, prioritizing the well-being of Bulacan residents during the Yuletide celebration.
Meanwhile, the massive operation of Bulacan PPO against illegal firecrackers resulted in the arrests of several illegal manufacturers and the confiscation of various illegally manufactured firecrackers and pyrotechnics.
Confiscated were Judas Belts; Kabase; Pla-Pla; Kingkong; Five Star; Bawang; Firecracker fuse, and other paraphernalia in making firecrackers.
