Boy, 7, drowns on Christmas Day

BACOLOD CITY – A seven-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool in a resort in Barangay Su-ay, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental on Christmas Day.

Police withheld the name of the victim, a resident of Kabankalan City.

Police Capt. Arturo Margallo, deputy chief of the Himamaylan City Police Station, said the victim’s family, who were celebrating the holiday season in the resort, failed to notice the boy going to the adult pool.

The victim’s mother looked for him a few minutes later.

His red clothes were found floating on the pool and she called for help.

The victim was rescued from the pool and taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
