BACOLOD CITY – The body of an infant was found buried in a vacant lot in Barangay Handumanan here on Tuesday, December 26.
Police Capt. Lalaine Lagoting, head of Police Station 10, said that children discovered the baby wrapped in a towel, placed inside a box, and sealed with plastic.

Lagoting said the children saw three people coming out of the vacant lot.
The children got curious and dug up the area until they found the baby’s body, she added.
Lagoting believed the baby was not a product of an abortion, but they could not determine the reason why the baby was not given a proper burial.
She said they decided to bury the baby at the public cemetery on Tuesday night through the help of barangay officials.
She said they have no leads yet on the identities of the three persons who were seen burying the infant.
