Bacolod logs first firecracker-related injury

BACOLOD CITY – This city logged the first firecracker-related injury this year on Christmas Eve. 

The victim was an 11-year-old boy here based on the record of the City Health Office (CHO).

Dr. Grace Tan, head of the Environment Sanitation Division of the CHO, said the victim is a resident of Barangay Estefania.

He was injured by a five-star firecracker on Christmas Eve and was taken to the hospital on Christmas Day.

Tan said the victim was then sent home after treatment.

Police here urged the public to refrain from using illegal firecrackers in welcoming the New Year.
