Four persons were hurt after the bus they were riding hit the railings near the Metro Rail Transit-3 Santolan Station while trying to avoid colliding with a police car along the Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) - Santolan busway on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 27.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said that the incident happened at around 1:30 p.m. along the southbound lane of Santolan Station busway where Philippine National Police - National Police Training Institute (PNP-NPTI) vehicle suddenly passed through.
In a Facebook post, the Department of Transportation said the bus, which was also on the southbound lane, tried to maneuver to avoid hitting the vehicle but it crashed inot the barriers in the area.
It added that the victims sustained wounds, bumps and bruises, and experienced dizziness after the incident.
They were brought by Quezon City government personnel to a hospital for immediate medical attention.
Police said the drivers of the vehicles were given road violation tickets.
It added the bus company that owns the public utility vehicle settled the hospital bills of the injured victims.
It said that the victims also decided not to file charges against the drivers.
