BAGUIO CITY – Christmas and dawn Masses in the Cordillera region were generally peaceful, police said.
The Police Regional Office Cordillera-Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD) said only 25 crimes – 10 index and 15 non-index – were reported from December 16 to 25.

This was 24 crimes or 56 percent lower than 2022 with 49 – 22 index and 27 non-index.
Police recorded no major untoward incident during this period.
Two-thousand policemen were deployed in the Cordillera to secure the holiday season.
Despite the lower crime statistics, PRO-Cordillera chief Police Brig. Gen. David K. Peredo Jr. said they remain on full alert status to ensure that the rest of the holiday season is peaceful.
