CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – The Police Regional Office-1 reported a peaceful observance of Christmas Day in the Ilocos region.

Police Brig. Gen. Lou Evangelista, PRO-1 director, ordered his men to sustain intensified security measures for the New Year.
Evangelista had earlier inspected bus terminals, transport hubs, and places of convergence in the region to check security measures.
“The ultimate objective of our intensified security preparation is to ensure the safety and security of the community before, during, and after the Yuletide season,” he said.
He reminded all police officers under his command to be safe while on duty.
More than 2,000 police personnel have been deployed to ensure peace and order in the Ilocos region.
