CEBU CITY – A 23-year-old man admitted killing a mother and her son in Barangay Carreta here.
Joselito Larriba was arrested on Christmas Day in the barangay.

The victims were identified as Crystal Mae Ongos, 31, and her 15-year-old son Wawang.
Police said Larriba shot Wawang inside an internet shop on December 13.
Past midnight on Christmas Day, Larriba shot Crystal Mae while in the wake of her son, police said.
Operatives of the Mabolo Police Station arrested Larriba several hours after he killed Crystal Mae.
Interviewed by reporters, Larriba said he got back at Wawang, who allegedly tried to stab him while trying to ask P10 from him.
Larriba said after Wawang tried to stab him, he went home to get a firearm and returned to the internet shop where he shot the minor in the head at close range.
Larriba said he also shot the mother after he learned that she threatened his pregnant wife.
“I already planned to escape. But she threatened my wife who is pregnant,” said Larriba.
A .38 revolver was recovered from the suspect when he was arrested.
Police Major Eraño Regidor, chief of the Mabolo Police Station, said they are conducting a deeper investigation to determine the motive of the killings.
Regidor said that they are looking into the possibility that the mother and son were killed over proceeds of illegal drug proceeds that were not remitted.
He said Larriba and Crystal Mae had been arrested due to illegal drug charges.
