K-pop group NCT’s Ten falls into stage lift hole at SBS Gayo Daejeon music show


K-pop group NCT member Ten fell into an open stage lift during the SBS Gayo Daejeon music festival on Dec. 25, an incident that worried fans. 

The SBS Gayo Daejeon is an annual music festival by Korean TV network SBS. 

A video of the accident showed Ten, also a member of Chinese boy band WayV, was seen walking and failing to notice the open stage lift due to dim lighting. Ten fell into the hole.

After falling into the stage lift hole, Ten reemerged on stage to perform. 

Following the accident, Ten assured fans that he was okay. 

"I'm fine. Don't worry. If it really hurts, I'll tell you right away. Merry Christmas again,” he posted online. 

Ten’s accident was reminiscent of K-pop group Red Velvet’s Wendy who suffered serious injuries during rehearsal for the SBS Gayo Daejeon show on Dec. 25, 2019. 

Wendy was rehearsing for a solo spot when she fell from the stage. 

"During rehearsals for her individual performance for '2019 SBS Gayo Daejun,’ Wendy fell from the stage and suffered from injuries. As diagnosed by medical staff, she sustained injuries to her face and fractures in her pelvis and wrist on the right side of her body,” said SM Entertainment, the girls’ agency, according to Korean media outlet Osen.
