To ensure a safe New Year celebration, Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando said the provincial government is doubling its efforts to ensure compliance with “Oplan Ingat Paputok.”

Fernando said the Bulacan provincial Police Office, Vice Governor Alexis C. Castro, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO), and the Bulacan Medical Center are all prepared.

He instructed the Bulacan police to remain vigilant and continue to intensify their crackdown against prohibited firecrackers, including smuggled pyrotechnics to ensure a safe celebration of the coming new year.

Meanwhile, PDRRMO head Ret. Col. Manuel M. Lukban Jr., said the deployment of firefighters and ambulances with paramedics will start along Barangay Turo, Bocaue where rows of fireworks stalls are located to ensure that emergency teams will always be on hand as the need arises.

On Monday, Dec. 25, Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan police director, conducted a field inspection of police stations in the towns of Bocaue, Obando, Santa Maria, Norzagaray, Angat, Bustos, and in the cities of San Jose Del Monte and Baliwag.

The inspections focused on the effective implementation of security protocols. Arnedo ordered the chief of police to reinforce safety measures and ensure a secure and incident-free environment for residents throughout the festive season.

Arnedo said he also deployed additional operatives to track down illegal vendors selling killer types of firecrackers as buyers of fireworks have started trooping to Bocaue, the "fireworks capital" of the country.
