Boy, 8, dies after being hit by ambulance on Christmas Eve

BACOLOD CITY – An eight-year-old boy died after he was hit by an ambulance in Barangay Rizal, Silay City, Negros Occidental on Christmas Eve.

Police withheld the name of the victim.

The victim suddenly crossed the road when the ambulance carrying a critical patient passed by the area on its way to this city from the Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City.

The 42-year-old ambulance driver surrendered to the police after transporting his critical patient to another hospital here.

The victim passed away in a private hospital here on Christmas Day.

Both parties have met for an initial settlement, police said.
