Vice President Sara Duterte has praised the dedication of frontliners serving the nation while the rest of the country enjoys Christmas festivities.
Duterte paid tribute to all frontliners, soldiers, policemen, firefighters, doctors, nurses and other health workers, disaster response personnel and all first responders, including emergency personnel and quick response teams and those who are celebrating Christmas away from their families through a message on Monday, Dec. 25.
"Ang inyong walang pag-iimbot na pangako at kahandaang magsakripisyo para sa Diyos, ating bansa, at inyong mga pamilya ay nagsisilbing tanglaw ng pag-asa at katatagan (Your selfless vow to and dedication to sacrifice for the Lord, the country, and your family serves as beacon of hope and strength)," Duterte said.
"Kayo ay sumisimbolo ng katapangan at pagkakawanggawa habang pinoprotektahan ninyo ang ating bansa (You are the symbol of courage and charity while protecting your country)," she added.
The Vice President told them that they are in her thoughts and prayers while they are serving their duties away from home.
She stressed that their sacrifices bring pride to their families even though they are unnoticed, adding that their service to the nation is a symbol of their love for the country and their fellow Filipinos.
"Ngayong panahon ng Pasko, habang kayo ay nagsiserbisyo na malayo sa ginhawa ng tahanan, nawa'y malaman ninyo na kayo ay nasa aming mga isipan at panalangin. Hindi man napapansin ang inyong mga sakripisyo ngunit nagdudulot ito ng karangalan sa inyong pamilya (This Christmas season, while you are serving away from the comfort of your homes, know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Your sacrifices may be unnoticed but it brings pride to your family)," Duterte said.
She also told them to keep safe while on duty.
In a separate message, the Vice President also hailed and thanked on Christmas dayoverseas Filipinos living and working around the world and assured them of her support.
