Cops net P13.6-M shabu in Christmas Eve drug bust

CEBU CITY â€“ An 18-year-old man spent Christmas in jail after he was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Nicolas here on Christmas Eve.

Police said at least two kilos of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P13.6 million was seized from Angelo Flores.

The operation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7).

The PRO-7 said that it took a two-week case buildup before the suspect was cornered.

Police said the suspect was capable of disposing of two to three kilos of shabu a week.

Lawmen added that the suspect was the trusted man of a drug personality who is currently detained at the Cebu City Jail.

The suspect was tasked to distribute illegal drugs to their customers, police said.

Police also learned that the suspect was arrested in 2021 by the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office but was released from jail after availing of the plea bargaining agreement.
