The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday, Dec. 25 said the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” will bring cloudy skies and rains over parts of Luzon in the next 24 hours.
In its 4 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Aurora, and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with rains.
Those in these areas are warned of potential flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rainfall.
With the exception of Palawan, the remainder of Luzon may also see isolated light amihan rains.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said the easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, may bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Caraga, Davao Region, Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Southern Leyte.
There is a risk of flash floods and landslides in these areas during periods of moderate to heavy rainfall, it warned.
Palawan and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao may also experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
