The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday, Dec. 24 said spilling operations at Angat Dam in Bulacan are still ongoing as the dam’s water level continues to rise.

As of 8 a.m., the water level of Angat Dam was 213.39 meters or 1.39 meters higher than its normal water level of 212 meters.
“The NPC (National Power Corporation) [is] still conducting [a] spilling operation with two gates open at one-meter total gate opening,” PAGASA said in its dam situationer.
Likewise, Ipo Dam, which is also in the province of Bulacan, continued its spilling activities with a total discharge of 145.5 cubic meters per second.
Residents in low-lying areas and near the river banks of Angat Dam in Norzagaray, Angat, San Rafael, Bustos, Baliuag, Pulilan, Plaridel, Calumpit, Paombong, and Hagonoy were advised to be vigilant against the threat of a possible rise in river elevation.
