PLARIDEL, Quezon – Ten individuals, including four minors, were injured in a collision between two vehicles on the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Tanauan here on Saturday morning, December 23.

Police identified the victims as Bernal Banal, 47, driver of a Mitsubishi L300 Exceed van, and his passengers Joan Satira, 41; Ariane Joy Satira, 18; Sheryl Parcarey, 36; Angeline Atillana, 22, and four minors. They are all residents of Barangay Progreso, Gumaca, Quezon.
Investigation said Banal was driving a Mitsubishi L300 Exceed van with license plates AAU-7966 when it was rammed by a Honda car with license plates NBT-5779 driven by “Mark” of Paranaque City which overtook another vehicle on a slippery curved portion of the road at around 6:20 a.m.
Drivers and passengers were taken by rescuers to the hospital.
Police said both parties have agreed to a settlement.
