President Marcos has urged Filipinos to remember the true meaning of Christmas and be an instrument of light and hope for those in need this Holiday season.

Marcos said this as Filipino Christians celebrate Christmas on Dec. 25.
In his Christmas message this year, the President recognized that Christmas is a special season for Filipinos, honoring the birth of Christ through the pre-dawn masses or Simbang Gabi, gift-giving, and feasts with family, friends, and loved ones.
However, he added that Christmas is also an occasion to reach out to those in need.
"But more than just a day of celebration, let us be reminded that the true meaning of Christmas lies in the recognition of the season as an opportunity to reach out to those who are suffering from solitude, sickness, and poverty," he wrote.
"Indeed, there is no better way for us to share the gift of Christmas than by spreading hope to those who need it the most this holiday season," he added.
President Marcos asked Filipinos to spread happiness this season by being kind and compassionate.
"Let us kindle our hearts with goodwill, kindness, and compassion as we spread merriment in our homes and communities," he said.
"By doing so, we do not only bring peace, love, and unity but become living instruments of the timeless adage that God's work here on earth is truly our own," he added.
