PLDT, Smart Mindanao facilities earn ISO certifications
PLDT and Smart Communications Inc.’s network facilities in Mindanao have received new ISO certifications for their business continuity management systems.
Among the newly-awarded facilities were those located at Ponciano and Matina Shrine Hills in Davao City, while the facilities in Bulua and J. Pacana in Cagayan de Oro were recertified.
In total, the PLDT Group now has 22 Business Continuity Management System certifications or ISO 22301:2019.
PLDT and Smart Head of Enterprise Business Continuity and Resilience Office (BCRO) Atty. Oliver Carlos G. Odulio said these achievements were a testament to the telco’s “capability to continue delivering our essential services amid emergencies, disasters and climate-related risks.”
"These also ensure that our critical network facilities across the country, including our sites in Mindanao, meet international standards, allowing us to provide leveled-up service to our customers, wherever they may be in the country," he added.
Claro Landeta, Head for Mindanao Facilities Management for PLDT, said the ISO certification process has helped them establish teamwork and confidence to operate regardless of the situation or when calamities take place.
"Especially in light of the recent earthquakes around Mindanao, we are confident knowing that our facilities have been tested, and that there are processes in place, should new problems arise," said Landeta.
PLDT has a resiliency framework in adherence to ISO 22301:2019, which the company implements to “prevent, minimize, and recover” from incidents that may disrupt network connectivity across its facilities and operations in the country.
