Pasig City holds solidarity meeting for Batang Pinoy, Philippine National Games participants
The Pasig City local government held a solidarity meeting for athletes and participants to the Batang Pinoy (BP) and Philippine National Games (PNG) as its way of showing support and recognition to the youth in achieving their dreams through sports.

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said around 2,300 delegates from different parts of the country were warmly welcomed during the event held at the Rizal High School Gym.
"Ang mga delegado na ito na binubuo ng coaches at athletes ay kasalukuyang nananatili sa Rizal High School sa kahabaan ng National Championship Games sa 2023 BP at PNG (These delegates of coaches and athletes are are being hosted by the city at the Rizal High School for the duration of the National Championship Games of the 2023 BP and PNG)," Sotto said.
He added that the Pasig City Band performed during the meeting where friendly games between delegates were also conducted.
In the Philippine Sports Commission's latest PNG medal tally as of Dec. 21, Pasig City now takes the second spot with 9 gold, 16 silver, and 19 bronze medals.
The Philippine National Games, officially known as the POC-PSC Games, is a national multi-sport tournament in the country created as a means to determine the possible composition of the national pool of athletes that will compete in international tournaments such as the Southeast Asian Games, Asian Games, and the Olympics.
It was created on March 3, 1994 by virtue of Executive Order No. 163 during the term of former President Fidel Ramos.
