ILOILO CITY – The Police Regional Office-6 seized suspected shabu and marijuana worth P302.5 million from May to December 19 in Western Visayas.

Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, PRO-6 chief, said 44,496.58 grams of shabu worth P302.5 million and 273.40 grams of marijuana valued at P32,808 were confiscated and 1,686 drug personalities were arrested in 1,285 anti-drug operations from May 24 to December 19.
“These numbers speak of the resolve of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to end the fight against illegal drugs in the region. It is also a testament of our dedication and commitment to have a drug-free community. Let us police our respective families,” Villaflor said.
Villaflor noted that this a 108.41 percent increase compared to the same period last year when only 21,350.21 grams of shabu worth P145.1 million and 2,827.37 grams of marijuana valued at P339,284 were seized.
Police Major Mary Grace Borio, PRO-6 spokesperson, said 293 more anti-drug operations were conducted that resulted in the arrest of 483 additional drug personalities than the same period in 2022 with 992 and 1,203, respectively.
Western Visayas is composed of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental provinces and the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacold.
