Christmas in jail for shabu vendor in Taguig

A man will be spending Christmas in jail after he was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Taguig on Dec. 21.

The Taguig police’s Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the buy-bust operation at about 9:10 p.m. on MLQ Street, Barangay New Lower Bicutan, Taguig.

The police arrested a man identified only by his alias Mike, 48, who will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

During the operation, the Taguig police seized seven plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 23 grams with a total value of P156,400, a P500 bill used as buy-bust and a cell phone.

According to the Southern Police District, the operation serves as a reminder of the Taguig police's unwavering commitment to ensuring community safety during the Yuletide season by curbing the drug trade within their jurisdiction.
