Evangelista ordered the police here to step up traffic management on major thoroughfares in the city.

“As the holidays approach, always prioritize safety. Safety ng community at higit sa lahat ang inyong kaligtasan lalong lalo na at kayo ang nasa frontline,” he said.

Evangelista inspected firecracker stalls in Bacnotan and Balaoan, La Union.

He said these security measures are embedded under the operational guidelines of “Ligtas Paskuhan 2023,” including the implementation of the law against the illegal manufacture and sale of firecrackers and pyrotechnics.

“We encourage our ‘kababayans’ to report to the nearest police stations any untoward incident or crimes that may occur in your respective localities. Magtulungan tayo para sa isang secured na Kapaskuhan!” he said.
