Drug personality shot dead in San Carlos City

BACOLOD CITY â€“ An alleged drug personality was gunned down in Ylagan Extension, Barangay 6, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Monday, December 18.

Police identified the victim as Peter Paul Orbita, 39, of Barangay 6.

Police Major Ryan Villasario, San Carlos City deputy chief of police, said the victim was standing in the area when a man approached and shot him.

Orbita was taken to a hospital where he died.

Recovered from the crime scene were five fired .45 caliber shells, according to Villasario.

Villasario said that this incident was among more than five drug-related killings in the city in the latter part of this year.

He said that they have a person of interest but they are having difficulty filing cases because witnesses fear for their safety.

Police are looking into the possibility that one group is behind these shooting incidents due to failed illegal drug transactions.

The city police have maximized its presence in the city to prevent such incidents from happening.
