These are the development of Laguindingan Airport that will make it an international from a domestic airport and the Misamis Oriental West Diversion Road (MOWDIR) that will ease travel in towns in the province’s first district.

“I did not have too many promises. I only said two. If you gave me a chance to be back in Kamara (Congress), there are two things that I wanted to pay more attention to,” Emano said during his second congressional report on Wednesday, December 20.

He reported that MOWDIR is 60 percent complete and 30 percent concretized.

This road is an alternative route from this city to Lugait, the last municipality in the western part of Misamis Oriental before Iligan City.

The project also has primary and secondary collector roads that would connect directly to the towns of Opol to Manticao in Misamis Oriental.

Emano said the Aboitiz Group has coordinated with them and hopes that the company would soon start the upgrade of Laguindingan Airport from a domestic airport to an international airport.

He has been seeking the airport’s development as it has not upgraded since it was established 10 years ago.

Laguindingan Airport, one of the busiest in the country, is suffering from congestion as it is catering to almost 5,000 passengers a day.

During his second congressional report, Emano presented completed infrastructure projects and provided funds to government agencies for their assistance programs.
