PH to be consecrated to maternal protection of Mary Immaculate
The Archdiocese of Davao is set to consecrate the Philippines to the maternal care and protection of Mary Immaculate.

In a circular, Archbishop Romulo Valles instructed all parishes and public chapels to pray the Prayer of Consecration to Mary Immaculate on Jan 1, 2024 to coincide with the Solemnity of Mary Mother of God.
“Together let us entrust our country to the maternal intercession and protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Mother,” said Archbishop Valles.
The prayer includes seeking for the maternal protection of the Blessed Mother amid the many difficulties and challenges around the world.
The Prayer of Consecration to Mary Immaculate will be recited after the Prayer for Spiritual Communion on Dec. 31 and in all masses on Jan. 1.
The country was also consecrated to the maternal care and protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary on May 13, 2023 to coincide with the feast of Our Lady of Fatima.
At the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the CBCP likewise consecrated the Philippines to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on May 13, 2020.
Pope Francis has also consecrated the world to the protection of the Holy Mother to end the ongoing war in Ukraine, Russia, Yemen, Israel and Palestine.
