Ongoing spilling operations: PAGASA observes 'gradual' increase in Angat Dam water level
The water level of Bulacan’s Angat Dam increased "gradually" over the past 24 hours, from 213.22 meters to 213.31 meters, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday, Dec. 21.

PAGASA said the increase was due to scattered rains from the northeast monsoon and easterlies.
Due to rising water levels, "[the] NPC (National Power Corporation) is still conducting spilling operations,” it said.
PAGASA also said Ipo Dam, which is downstream of Angat Dam, is also discharging water as of Thursday.
Angat Dam has a spilling level of 212 meters, while Ipo Dam has a spilling level of 101 meters.
"The Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMOs) and the residents living along low-lying areas and those near the river bank of Angat River from Norzagaray, Angat, San Rafael, Bustos, Baliuag, Pulilan, Plaridel, Calumpit, Paombong, and Hagonoy are still advised to be alert for the possible rise in the river elevation," PAGASA said.
