Fetus found in Pasig City dumpsite

An abandoned fetus was found at a dumpsite in Pasig City on Friday, Dec. 15.

Barangay Bambang officials said a child scavenger found a black backpack that was left at the dumpsite on Pinalad Street, Barangay Pinagbuhatan and Bambang, containing the fetus that is estimated to be around seven to eight months old.

In an interview with authorities, the child scavenger discovered the baby, together with a piece of paper containing a name after lifting the blanket inside the bag. 

The police are still determining if the name belongs to the victim's mother.

Barangay Bambang official Jomel Tunod said the police are seeing a high probability of foul play since the fetus appeared to have been aborted or was delivered but abandoned.

Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation.
