State-run Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is expecting a rise in business and leisure activities with the upcoming international concert at the New Clark City Athletics Stadium in Capas, Tarlac.
Joshua Bingcang, BCDA president and chief executive officer expressed confidence that the P4 billion multi-purpose arena can cater events beyond athletic endeavors.
Korean pop boy group Enhypen is set to perform at the New Clark City stadium for the FATE concert world tour in February 2024.
“The much-awaited concert will not just put [New Clark City] but the whole of Clark on the map of new concert venues in the Philippines,” Bingcang told Manila Bulletin.
Constructed and opened to the public in 2019, the 20,000-seater athletics ground has hosted the Southeast Asian Games and Spartan Stadion.
Aside from that, they welcomed their first local music concert earlier this December.
“We are confident that we would be able to successfully host our first-ever major international concert in February and that the New Clark City is ready to become the next must-see arts and entertainment destination in the Philippines,” Bingcang added.
With hopes of a surge in Clark’s economic development, Bingcang believed that catering to international entertainment would benefit both business people and leisure travelers.
Meanwhile, the BCDA met with Italian business groups and delegates from the United Arab Emirates earlier in November for international partnership opportunities.
This year, the development authority has explored private partnerships for the city's smart transport system and invited possible joint ventures for the devleopment of technological infrastructures.
“Our goal now is to partner with industry leaders and technical experts who can help us make New Clark City and the whole of Clark more liveable and resilient by addressing the need for equitable and in-city housing, building more public spaces and parks, as well as bringing in smart city technologies in the new metropolis,” Bingcang said.
