3D florals: Let these celebs inspire you to wear the dominating trend of the season

Seen on many international and local runways, these sartorial blooms are becoming the 'it' style of the moment

Throughout the chic run of “Sex and the City,” many women tuned in to the show not just for its unabashed conversations about relationships over Cosmos and the different creatures that roam the Big Apple but also for style inspirations. Leading the pack is the show’s protagonist, fictional sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw. Through the performance of actress Sarah Jessica Parker and the costumes by noted stylist Patricia Field, the character birthed numerous fashion moments that delighted fans everywhere. Who could forget Carrie’s ballerina skirt look, Dior newspaper-print garb, and Vivienne Westwood wedding dress styled with a bird headpiece?

But if there is one style trick Carrie can’t let go of, that would be her love for 3D floral embellishment. Even in the series’ newest chapter “And Just Like That…,” we still see her rocking a statement bloom. And it looks like the international runways followed suit. For spring 2023, as expected, pieces in florals graced the runway, but they went beyond print and took a whole new form as 3D florals.

Giant anthurium flowers were seen in Loewe’s show and leather blooms added a touch of magic to Bottega Veneta’s 2023 show. That element of sculpted florals is also echoed in the fall collections of Prada and Christian Siriano, among others. Local designers are also jumping into the floral fest. Just take a look at the latest works of Cheetah Rivera and Rosanna Ocampo. Those 3D florals elevate the classic dainty dressing, and if you want to wear it this season, let these local celebs inspire you to go bold with florals.
