President Marcos expressed hopes that overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) maintain a strong relationship with their families while they are away from them, telling them that the government would help them in doing so.

Marcos cited several interventions by the government during the OFW Family Day 2023 held in Pasay City on Wednesday, Dec. 20.
The government intends to strengthen your relationship with your families, especially that you are not able to be with them for a long time)," Marcos said in his speech.
I hope you maintain your strong relationship and be able to be with them through this occasion)," he added.
The President expressed that the government continues to provide interventions to ensure the welfare of OFWs.
He cited the formation of the One Repatriation Command Center which features hotline 1348 that is open 24/7 to provide rescue, repatriation, counseling, and legal assistance services to OFWs.
Marcos also mentioned the reintegration program for returning OFWs who wish to stay for good in the country.
Some of these programs, he said, include Livelihood Development Assistance Program; Balik Pinay Balik Hanapbuhay; Financial Awareness Seminar-Small Business Management Training; Enterprise Development Loan Program; and the Tulong Pang-kabuhayan sa Pag-unlad ng Samahang OFWs.
There are also programs intended for the families of OFWS, he said. These are OFW Children Circle and OWWA Education and Training Program and Educational Assistance among others.
The Chief Executive pointed out that the OFW-related programs exist to help migrant workers undergo training which would arm them to start anew.
That is why these assistance exist to give our OFWs opportunity to start anew after the pandemic)," he said.
He ensured that there are "more projects in the pipeline" to help them and their families.
As you work overseas to provide a better life to your families, we also work here for the betterment of our country so that when you come back, you can finally see the changes here in the Philippines)," Marcos said.
Marcos graced the celebration on Wednesday dubbed "Nagkakaisang Pamilyang OFWs Patungo sa Bagong Pilipinas."
