Among these are the acquisition of a 2.3-hectare lot in Barangay San Pedro and Tabgas where a super Rural Health Unit (RHU) is being built, construction of a sanitary landfill in Barangay Binolho, new slaughterhouse, and municipal warehouse, and the expansion of the municipal market seawall.
The municipality was conferred with the National Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) 2023 Award.
Albuera is one of the five municipalities in Leyte and one of the two towns in the fourth district of Leyte recognized by the Department of Interior and Local Government.
"This award is not mine alone but yours because as your mayor, I only oversee your work. With this recognition, first, I salute our municipal local government operations officer, second our municipal administrator, our Sangguniang Bayan and Sangguniang Barangay members, and our department heads who helped us," Dela Victoria said.
Albuera was also named as the top performing local government unit in Eastern Visayas in the SubayBAYANI Award, which recognizes the exemplary performance of LGUs and Department of the Interior and Local Government personnel in implementing the SubayBAYAN system, one of the department’s approaches to promote accountability and transparency on all levels of governance in the region.
The LGU was second among all third class LGUs in the province in the Highest Locally Sourced Revenues for 2023 Award.
"To the people in the barangays, let us work hand-in-hand because these awards that we have received also apply to you," said Dela Victoria, adding that the super RHU, the expansion of the water supply system in Pangal-alan Sherwood Source, municipal slaughterhouse, additional police building in Barangay San Pedro, and the construction of the Albuera port in Sitio Kalingatnan, San Pedro will be completed next year.
